Garlicky, herby bread dipping oil with balsamic and Parmesan, ready in about 10 minutes for warm crusty bread.

# Ingredients:

For the dipping oil

01 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) extra virgin olive oil
02 - 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
03 - 3 small garlic cloves, very finely minced
04 - 2 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan cheese
05 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
06 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
07 - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or less to taste
08 - 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
09 - 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

For serving

10 - 1 loaf warm crusty bread, such as baguette, ciabatta, sourdough, or focaccia

# Instructions:

01 - Mince the garlic very finely. Sprinkle it with the salt and mash it lightly with the side of a knife to make the flavor spread evenly.
02 - Add the garlic, Parmesan, basil, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and black pepper to a shallow serving bowl.
03 - Pour in the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Stir until the herbs and cheese are evenly distributed.
04 - Let the dipping oil sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes so the garlic and herbs flavor the oil.
05 - Warm the bread until the crust is crisp, then tear or slice it into pieces. Stir the oil once more and serve right away.

# Notes:

01 - Best served the day it is made.
02 - Let the oil rest 10-15 minutes before serving for fuller flavor.
03 - Nutrition estimate does not include bread.
