Easy Classic Guacamole (Print Version)

Fresh, chunky guacamole made with ripe avocados, lime, tomato, onion, cilantro, and a little heat in about 10 minutes.

# Ingredients:

For the guacamole

01 - 3 ripe Hass avocados, washed and dried
02 - 1 medium lime, juiced, about 2 tablespoons
03 - 1 small Roma tomato, seeded and finely diced
04 - 1/4 cup (35 g) finely chopped red onion
05 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro, plus more for garnish
06 - 1/2 small jalapeno, seeded and finely minced, optional
07 - 1 small garlic clove, finely grated, optional
08 - 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt, plus more to taste
09 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For serving

10 - Tortilla chips, tacos, bowls, or fresh vegetables

# Instructions:

01 - Seed and dice the tomato, finely chop the red onion and cilantro, mince the jalapeno, and grate the garlic if using. Keep the pieces small so every scoop tastes balanced.
02 - Halve and pit the avocados. Scoop the flesh into a medium bowl and mash with a fork until mostly creamy with some chunks left.
03 - Add the lime juice and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Stir gently, then taste the avocado base before adding the vegetables.
04 - Add the tomato, red onion, cilantro, jalapeno, garlic, and black pepper. Fold gently until combined, taking care not to crush the tomato.
05 - Taste with a chip or whatever you plan to serve with it. Add more lime or salt if needed, garnish with cilantro, and serve immediately.

# Notes:

01 - Best served within 30 minutes of mixing.
02 - Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface before chilling leftovers.
03 - For milder onion, soak chopped onion in cold water for 5 minutes and drain well.
