Watermelon Lemon Sweet Tea (Print Version)

A cold pitcher drink made with strong black tea, fresh watermelon juice, lemon, and just enough sugar.

# Ingredients:

For the tea

01 - 4 cups (960 ml) water
02 - 4 black tea bags
03 - 1/3 cup (65 g) granulated sugar, plus more to taste

For the watermelon lemon mix

04 - 4 cups (600 g) seedless watermelon cubes
05 - 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lemon juice, from about 2 lemons
06 - 1 cup (240 ml) cold water, plus more as needed

To serve

07 - Ice cubes
08 - Lemon slices
09 - Small watermelon cubes
10 - Fresh mint leaves

# Instructions:

01 - Bring 4 cups water just to a boil. Remove from the heat, add the tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes, or according to the tea package for a strong brew.
02 - Remove and discard the tea bags. Stir in 1/3 cup sugar while the tea is warm until fully dissolved. Let the tea cool to room temperature.
03 - Add the watermelon cubes to a blender and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine sieve for a smoother drink, pressing gently to collect the juice.
04 - Pour the cooled sweet tea, watermelon juice, lemon juice, and 1 cup cold water into a large pitcher. Stir well and taste. Add more sugar or cold water if needed.
05 - Refrigerate until very cold, at least 1 hour. Serve over ice with lemon slices, watermelon cubes, and fresh mint.

# Notes:

01 - Best served very cold over fresh ice.
02 - Stir before pouring because fresh watermelon juice may settle.
03 - For a sparkling version, top each glass with cold sparkling water.
